How is a lot size is determined for stock?
In the stock market, total lot size refers to the number of shares you buy in one transaction. In option trading, the size of the lot represents the total number of contracts contained in one security.
The lot size concept allows financial markets to control price. It means the size of the trade you do in the financial market. With price controls, investors are always aware of how many units they purchase on an individual contract and can easily check what they are paying for each unit. If not the maximum size specified, there will be no pricing and measurement and trading on option contracts will be difficult and consuming.
